Shoutout to my dive computer timer for keeping me honest
It drove me nuts that I kept surfacing late and annoying the crew. I was always losing track of minutes underwater. So I started setting a hard alarm on my dive computer. Now I'm never late, and the team doesn't have to wait. How do you keep track of time underwater?

Does the alarm startle you or other divers?

lol yeah the alarm is so loud it makes me jump every single time. I've literally dropped my flashlight once because it went off right by my head. You get used to it after a few dives but that first beep is always a heart attack. My buddy always laughs at me for flinching.

Dropping the flashlight is a mood. My dive computer beeps like a smoke alarm and I still jerk my whole arm even after years of diving. It's that split second where your brain just screams "danger" before it catches up. Your buddy laughing is the worst part.
