Am I the only one who fixed a thermal shutdown with a BIOS setting instead of new paste | Computer Technicians

Got a shop PC that kept dying after about 20 minutes under load. I was ready to redo the paste until I found the fan curve was set to silent in BIOS, bumped it to performance and it ran cool all day. Has anyone seen a board ship with a curve that lazy out of the box?
