Spent 4 hours chasing a driver issue that was just a loose cable

Had a client's PC throwing blue screens every 10 minutes. Checked drivers, swapped RAM, ran diagnostics, the whole deal. Turns out the SATA cable was barely seated on the drive side. Anyone else waste half a day on something this dumb?

3rd time this month I found a cable that just looked plugged in.

Cable #3 for me was a Cat6 that looked perfectly seated but the little clip was snapped off inside the port. I just grabbed a sharpie and marked the end that was actually making contact with a little dot so I could tell at a glance. Now I keep a cheap continuity tester in my pocket at all times. Saves me from pulling my hair out over ghost connections.
