Had to pick between rapid set and standard cure for a driveway job in Phoenix last week

Customer wanted it done in a day but I knew standard cure would hold up better in the heat. Went with rapid set anyway and ended up with some hairline cracks by day three. Anyone else regret rushing a pour because of a customer's timeline?

Tell you what, I've made that same mistake so many times I should start a support group for it. Standing there watching those hairline cracks show up is like seeing your ex at a party you knew they'd be at. I figure my grandkids will be telling stories about old grandma Susan and her cracked driveways. I swear sometimes I just nod along to the customer and my own common sense takes a vacation. The heat in Phoenix is no joke either, rapid set or not, that sun bakes everything weird.

Figured Phoenix heat would be the real issue but the rapid set itself was probably the problem, it doesn't have the same long term durability as standard cure in that kind of weather. Should've pushed back harder or offered a follow up seal coat. Did you try a curing compound after the pour?
