Watched a 4 inch slump load turn into a 20 minute chase in Bakersfield last Friday
We were pouring a 40x60 slab off Rosedale and the first two trucks sat so long the mix stiffened up past what I like to finish, so I had the driver hit it with a half gallon of water per yard before it went down the chute. I added plasticizer on the last three loads and worked the screed fast instead of messing with a second pass, and we still got a decent burn on it by 4pm. Next time do you guys call the plant and make them swap trucks, or just deal with it and push through the pour?
