Arguing about lizard people on a bus tour of D.C. felt simpler then.

People would just laugh it off, not pull out their phones. The guide kept a straight face the whole time, which was the best part.

That bit about the guide keeping a straight face is perfect. I tried to get a heated debate going about the moon landing being faked at a family BBQ a few years back. My big play was asking why the flag waved. My cousin, who is a mechanic, just sighed and explained vacuums to me for ten minutes. I looked way dumber than any lizard person believer. Now you just get a link to a YouTube playlist instead of a good laugh at your expense.

Ever hear about my buddy's bigfoot argument that, like vall42 said, used to just end in more coffee?

Remember when UFO debates at the diner were just harmless fun?
