My brother's feed went from 4 flat earth videos a day to zero after he changed one setting
I stayed with my brother in Boise for a couple weeks in March and his YouTube home page was wall to wall moon landing hoax stuff and flat earth stuff, like 4 or 5 new videos every single day. He swore the algorithm was pushing it on him and honestly I kind of rolled my eyes at that. Then he turned off his watch history for a few days, just to test it, and the whole feed went blank and reset. When he turned it back on and only watched woodworking and truck stuff for a bit, the conspiracy videos dropped to almost nothing within about 5 days. So now he's convinced the site was secretly steering him, but I think he just forgot how many of those videos he actually clicked on himself out of boredom. He pulled up his old watch history to prove me wrong and it was like 3 hours of flat earth stuff from one night at 1am. He went real quiet after that. Has anyone else watched someone blame the algorithm when their own clicks were doing the pushing the whole time?
