My cheap IKEA lamp exposed a staged photo in a missing person case

I was browsing a true crime forum last week and someone posted a photo from a small town in Ohio. The family claimed the missing man had been gone for 10 days, and the photo showed him in his living room. I noticed the lamp shade in the background had that classic IKEA pattern from the 2016 line. But that line was recalled in 2017 for a fire hazard. I checked the recall list and the date stamp on the base in the photo matched a batch only sold in stores after the recall. That meant the photo was taken at least 18 months later than they said. I posted the finding and it got deleted by the mods within an hour. Has anyone else caught a fake timeline using consumer product dates? What other items can you check for manufacturing stamps?
