Pro tip: Staying calm during a 5G theory talk felt like a real achievement

I usually jump right into arguing when I hear wild claims. This time, I paused and just said 'tell me more' and it totally shifted the vibe. Felt like a BIG step for me in these chats.

That line about it shifting the vibe really hits home. My buddy had a similar thing happen when his uncle started on the moon landing stuff. He forced himself to just ask "what makes you believe that?" instead of the usual back and forth. He said the whole talk got way less heated, and his uncle actually seemed to think about it for a second. It didn't change any minds, but it stopped the usual shouting match. Seems like that simple question can totally change the direction of those talks.

Totally get the moon landing stuff, that's a classic. My cousin's wife once tried to explain the flag waving thing to me with straight face. I just asked her where she thinks they got the big green screen in 1969. She got real quiet and then changed the subject to the weather. Sometimes you just have to point out the practical stuff, like where would they even store all that studio sand. It's better than yelling, but man, the ideas people come up with.
