Realized I'd been sectioning wrong for 8 months after a client's haircut went sideways
I've been doing fine cuts on curly hair since I started at the shop in Phoenix last spring, and everyone loved my work. Then last week a regular client came in with this weird triangle shape on one side, and she asked if I'd been lifting the top section toward the back the whole time. I looked at my mirror setup and finally saw it: I was always pulling my sections straight up instead of following the head shape, so the layers were stacking unevenly. Has anyone else had that moment where a client's comment made you re-check something you thought you had down, and how long did it take to retrain your hands?
