Hit 300 icons in my set and realized the grid was hurting me, not helping | Crafting With Code

I was so proud of keeping every icon on a 24px grid until I counted 300 of them last week and saw that 40 were stretched weird just to fit. Once I gave myself a 20px grid for the odd shapes, the whole set finally looked even, and the fix took maybe 15 minutes. Anyone else ditch their grid rule at some point, and did your icons survive it?
