Had a close call with a load swing on a windy day in Denver

Was setting a steel beam last month when a gust caught it, nearly tagged the side of the building. My spotter yelled 'hold!' and I had to ride the swing out. How do you guys handle sudden wind changes on high-rise jobs?

Used to just watch the flag and hope for the best. After a beam swung into my crane's cab on a bridge job, I check the weather app for gusts every morning now and plan my picks for the calmest part of the day.
