Can we talk about how online portfolio showcases always look better than the actual studio space?
I visited a studio in Portland last month that had these gorgeous renders on their site. Modern lighting, clean lines, perfect spacing. Got there and the power strip on the wall was literally held up with duct tape. Floor was sticky. Just made me wonder if any of us are actually working in spaces that match what we put online.

Heard a podcast where an architect admitted to staging photos with fake plants and rented furniture.

Ngl that doesn't surprise me at all. I remember when I was selling my last place, the realtor brought in a whole bunch of fake plants and a rented couch just for the photos. Honestly it felt weird walking into my own house and seeing it look like a showroom, but the pictures came out super clean. Tbh I think that's just how the game works now - you gotta make the space look as good as possible even if it's not totally real. Just don't look too close at the leaves in those photos lol.
