That free video editing software I ignored for years actually saved my bacon on a rush job Tuesday
I had a client drop a 3 minute interview on me at 5 PM needing it cut by 8 AM the next morning, and DaVinci Resolve handled the 4K footage without crashing once on my old laptop, has anyone else had a free tool bail them out when their paid one failed?

Oh man, that's great to hear. I read somewhere that DaVinci Resolve actually started as a color grading tool for Hollywood movies, so it makes sense it's solid even on older hardware. I tried it once on my beat up laptop and was surprised it didn't turn into a slideshow.

Wait, did you manage to run the full version or the Lite one? Because I tried installing the full Resolve on an older Dell and it crashed before I even got to the timeline. Stabilization is a beast though, even the free version does it way better than Premiere ever did. What kind of footage were you cutting on that laptop?
