Warning: Our client's custom font licensing issue held up a project launch for 6 weeks, not the 2 days we budgeted.

Has anyone else had a font foundry suddenly revoke a web license after a client's site traffic grew past a specific threshold?

Yeah, that traffic threshold trap is real. We got hit with a retroactive bill because our page views went over the license limit. Now we just use system fonts for anything that might scale, which honestly looks fine. Sorry to hear about your six weeks, that's brutal. Maybe @shah.jesse is onto something with Comic Sans, at least it's free.

My budget for fonts is just Comic Sans.

Wait, is @harperc79 saying Comic Sans is actually a decent fallback or just trolling? I feel like there's a middle ground between system fonts and that monstrosity.
