Called aspect-ratio lazy for 2 years, then it saved my 40 card grid on a Tuesday night
I spent two years writing padding-top hacks and jquery fallbacks for every square card grid, and I told a coworker aspect-ratio was marketing fluff. Then I had a 40 card product grid due Tuesday night and the padding hack made every card grow a weird 8px gap on Safari. I tried aspect-ratio 1/1 as a joke at 11pm and every card locked perfect with one line. I sat there staring at my monitor for a good minute feeling like a fool. Now I am wondering what other one-liners I have been avoiding, so what property did you write off too early?
