Grid areas felt like overkill until I hit my 17th breakpoint
I spent months bouncing between flex and basic grid columns. Named areas always looked like some extra step for people who overthink CSS. Then last week I had to rebuild a dashboard with 17 different breakpoints, tablets, tiny laptops, a 4K monitor, the works. Every time I tried to adjust one column, five others broke. Switched everything to explicit grid-template-areas and it finally snapped into place. I could move a whole section around by changing one line instead of hunting down margin hacks. Feels dumb to admit I avoided this for so long. Has anyone else hit that wall where grid areas suddenly made sense after you fought the old way for days?
