A 15 year old showed me a CSS animation at the library and I felt ancient

I was at the downtown library waiting for a book hold and this kid maybe 14 or 15 was working on something on his laptop. I glanced over and saw this wild pulsing gradient effect moving across a page. I asked him how he did it and he just said "keyframes with background-position." Took me a second to realize I still think of CSS animations as some newfangled thing. When I started building sites in the early 2000s we used JavaScript for everything and it was a mess. He was done in like 10 lines. Made me wonder how many old tricks I still hang onto that are totally unnecessary now. Anyone else run into a moment where a younger dev or designer made you realize you are stuck in the past? What was the specific thing?

Laughed out loud when I realized I still use jQuery for stuff that's been built into vanilla JS for years.

Right, laughed out loud too when I realized I still reach for it out of habit.
