Flexbox or grid for a client's 3 column footer? I chose grid and now the whole thing bugs out on Safari
Last week I had to build a footer for a bakery site in Portland and I went with CSS Grid over Flexbox because I wanted those uneven column widths. Big mistake. On Safari 16 the middle column keeps collapsing to 0px and the owner's phone number just disappears. I spent 3 hours swapping in minmax and fractional units trying to patch it before I finally gave up and rebuilt the whole thing in Flexbox in 20 minutes. Now I'm wondering if grid is just a trap for simple layouts. Has anyone else had grid completely fall apart on one browser while working fine everywhere else?
