Just noticed my hover effects were totally broken on mobile for 6 months

I was testing my personal site on my friend's iPhone last week and realized my fancy CSS hover animations just flash on and off when you tap. On desktop they look great with the smooth transitions and color shifts, but on mobile they're completely useless since there's no actual hover. I didn't catch it because I always test on my laptop with a mouse. Has anyone else had mobile hover states mess up their layout or cause weird flickering?
