Shoutout to the 23 fake login alerts that finally made me turn on 2FA
Got 23 password reset emails in one afternoon from sites I barely use, and my bank app lockout at 6pm was the last straw. Spent 40 minutes switching my email and bank to an authenticator app instead of texting codes. Anyone else notice the fake alerts ramp up right before a real one hits?

Did you end up switching everything over all at once or did you do it in waves? That sounds like a total mess to deal with, and honestly the bank lockout would have sent me over the edge too. Getting 23 reset emails in one afternoon is wild, especially from sites you barely even use. I had a similar scare last month where a bunch of old accounts I forgot about started sending me codes, then two days later someone actually tried to get into my main email. The fake ones really do seem to come in a storm first, like they are testing to see which addresses are live before they go for the real thing. Good on you for taking the 40 minutes to set up the app, texting codes are just not safe anymore with how easy it is to grab them.
