Pro tip: I was cutting all my crown upside down for years

How long did it take you to figure that out? I did the same thing for a solid year before another guy on a job site showed me the flat method. It felt wrong at first, but the corners just close up so much nicer.

Warning: Our old way of building button styles was a total mess

How did you get everyone to actually use the new library? We had to make our core styles the only npm package that got updates, so pulling from the old messy files just wasn't an option anymore. It forced the change pretty fast.

Finally got my city's parking app to stop double charging me

I once paid for eight hours of parking in Portland because I couldn't find the "end session" button. My car wasn't even there anymore, I was just funding a meter for a stranger. These apps are designed to be confusing on purpose.

Pro tip: I stopped using generic thermal paste on gaming consoles after a repair came back

My old PS4 ran for years with the cheapest paste I could find on Amazon. Never cracked it open again after the first clean. People act like you need lab grade materials for a game console, but most of the time the stock paste is fine if you just apply it right. I've seen so many posts where the problem was a bad mount or dust, not the paste itself. Spending twenty bucks on a tiny tube feels like a solution looking for a problem.

Working on a flyer for a local 5k and my friend's kid couldn't read the times.

Totally agree on aiming for AAA. I've seen 4.5 fail in real sunlight on cheap phone screens... it just washes out. Hitting 7:1 isn't that hard with modern tools anyway. Why risk making people squint?
