A designer in Portland told me my dark theme needed less contrast, and showing her one screen proved it
She pointed at my sidebar text against the #1a1a1a background and said it looked like it was glowing in the dark. Dropped the text from pure white to #cccccc and suddenly the whole card layout stopped feeling like a flashlight to the face. Anyone else run into the "too much contrast is actually worse" thing when they first started doing dark mode?

That glowing in the dark thing is real, I dropped my text to #ccc too and it fixed everything lol
