Proper contrast ratios finally make sense to me.

Wait, you just figured that out now? It took me months to get the contrast right on my own site. Some of those default color combos are just plain hostile.

Honestly, do you see that a lot with other stuff too? Like bad signs or menus that are just impossible to read.

Used to believe it was just bad art until my dad misread his pill bottle. Now I notice terrible signs everywhere, like the hospital's dark blue emergency exit on a black wall. That stuff can actually hurt people.
