My $60 mistake with cheap glossy paper for business cards
Last month I ordered 500 business cards from a discount online printer using their cheapest glossy paper option. After handing them out at a networking event near downtown Austin, I noticed the ink was smudging on people's fingers by the end of the night. I should've just spent the extra $30 on a matte or textured stock. Anyone else had bad luck with budget paper choices?

Whoa, smudging ink on your fingers at a networking event sounds like a hassle but honestly that's kind of just the risk you take with budget glossy paper. Unless you're handing out cards to people who actually care about the paper feel (instead of just the contact info) I'm not sure it warrants being called a $60 mistake. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but business cards end up in a landfill or a pile on someone's desk either way.

Gotta agree with @lucaslane here, most cards go straight into the trash anyway. Makes me wonder why I stress over paper quality when I can barely keep my coffee from dripping on them.
