Found a cheap way to test paint colors without buying samples
I kept guessing wrong on wall colors for our living room in Austin and wasted about $80 on sample pots that all dried darker than expected. Then my neighbor told me to grab those free paper paint swatches from the big box store, cut them into shapes, and tape them up for a week to see how the light hits them at different times. It sounds too simple but the full-size swatch trick actually helped me pick a warm gray that works from morning to evening. Has anyone else tried taping up swatches before committing to a gallon?
