Yeah, a buddy of mine just got a new bike and would not stop complaining about this rough spot in his pedal stroke. He was convinced it was his form or something. I finally talked him into letting me check the crank alignment, and it was way off. We got it dialed and he took it for a spin. The text I got was just, 'oh...
