My buddy did the exact same thing and now he can hear a fork drop from his bedroom. He thought it would be this great hangout space but he says dinner cleanup sounds like a drum solo in his ear every night. If you cook a lot or have kids, that open wall just turns your whole house into one big echo chamber.
