Barista in Austin made me question my whole color palette

I was sketching menu boards at a coffee shop on 6th Street and the barista asked why my highlights were all warm tones. She said my work felt 'safe' and pointed out that shadows can carry blue or purple without looking weird. Took me 2 weeks to try it on a real project and now I can't stop seeing the difference. Anyone else had a stranger's offhand comment flip their process?
