Paid $400 for a portfolio review, felt ripped off until I did the math
I hired a senior designer from a big agency for a one-hour video review of my portfolio last month. She gave me notes I mostly knew already, but one comment about my case study order led to a junior role interview last week. The question is, is paying for feedback ever worth it, or are free critiques from strangers just as good most of the time?

What made that one comment worth $400 when the rest felt like stuff you already knew? If she had just told you to reorder your case studies without explaining why, would it still have landed?
