Spent $350 on a portfolio site template, went back to my own code in a week
I bought a fancy Webflow template off a marketplace last month because I was tired of my custom site looking dated. It looked great in the demo but once I put my own work in, the layout broke on mobile and the hover effects felt laggy. Took me 6 days of tweaks before I gave up and rebuilt my old static pages from scratch. The irony is my old site got me a freelance gig last year while this polished thing got zero replies. Anyone else regret buying a template instead of just fixing what they already had?
