Hex codes on screen vs printed, my business card joke backfired
I spent a week picking a deep green for my logo, matched it perfectly in Figma, and sent it to a local print shop in Austin. When the cards showed up, the color looked like swamp water, not the rich forest tone I saw on my monitor. The printer told me my screen brightness was tricking me, and sure enough, they were right about the gamma difference. I learned the hard way to order a physical proof before committing to 500 cards, that was a $45 lesson. Now I always check my colors on at least two devices and ask for a print sample first. Has anyone else been burned by this, or do you have a trick for predicting the shift?

Ugh, been there. My "coral" bridesmaid dress swatches looked straight up salmon once they got printed, and the shop just shrugged like it was my problem. Smart move on the physical proof though, way cheaper than eating 500 bad cards.
