@janahenderson you gotta keep it simple, just four colors max or your brain will rebel against you and you'll end up with a pile of sticky notes on your desk like the rest of us lol.

Does that count include the ones where you basically redid the whole thing from scratch after they changed their mind? I swear half my builds are version 2.0 because someone saw a different stain color online.

Keep using moving blankets and youll end up killing your high end even more than you already have. Those things are designed to absorb broad spectrum sound but they eat up all your air and presence especially if you box yourself in too tight. A U shape behind the chair is fine but make sure you leave the front and sides open or youll sound like youre recording from inside a closet. I tried a similar setup once and ended up with takes so dead they sounded lifeless. Small adjustments in mic placement and angle usually fix road noise better than throwing fabric at everything anyway.

Honestly, does it really matter that much for the average homeowner? I've seen trees get flush cut all the time in my neighborhood and they're still standing and growing like 5 years later. People act like you'll kill the whole tree if you don't leave a perfect collar, but I think a lot of it is just old school arborist lore that gets way too hyped up. I get that it helps the tree heal faster, but unless you're doing this for a living on like ancient oaks, who cares? Most people just want the branch gone and don't want to stare at a stub sticking out. The tree will survive either way, it's not like it's gonna die tomorrow from a bad cut.
