Hit 500 followers on my portfolio and it changed how I think about grids
I post my beginner design work online mostly to get feedback, and last Tuesday I passed 500 followers. That number sounds tiny compared to real designers but it shocked me because my first 3 months only got like 12. Somebody commented that my layouts felt calm and they kept scrolling through my whole page, so I went back and looked at what was different. I realized every piece I made after April used a 12 column grid from day one, no exceptions. Before that I just eyeballed spacing and things always felt slightly off but I could never say why. That comment plus the numbers finally convinced me that structure does the heavy lifting, not talent or fancy tools. Has anyone else hit a random milestone that made them rethink a basic technique?
