My dad the electrician wrecked my font choices

Last weekend my dad was helping me hang shelves in my new place and saw my logo mockups on the laptop. He squinted at the screen and goes 'those letters look too skinny, nobody's gonna read that from a truck'. I laughed it off but then I actually drove past a few business signs on the way home and he's completely right. I was picking fonts that looked cool zoomed in at 200% but they turn to mush at real world sizes. Any tips for testing readability from a distance without printing a giant banner every time?

Dads have this weird superpower where they're right about stuff you never asked them to check, kinda annoying. Printing one test page and taping it to a wall on the other side of the room costs like 50 cents and takes two minutes. Worst case you look silly squinting at paper, best case you save yourself from a whole truck wrap mistake.
