Rant: the paint sample wall at Home Depot on 34th drove me nuts
Was picking colors for my studio corner last Friday and tried to compare two grays, but the lighting in that aisle is horrible. Everything looked blue under the fluorescents and orange near the window display. I ended up buying 3 samples at $6 each and none matched my poster frames. Does anyone else test colors at home before committing, or do you trust those little cards?

Those $6 samples at Home Depot are actually quart size, not the little half-pint pots, so three of them set you back way more than most folks realize. The store lights always lie, so painting a test patch on your own wall and checking it at different times of day is the only way to know for sure.
