Just realized the blend tool works way better when I stop tracing everything

I was fighting for 2 hours to make a smooth gradient line in Illustrator for a fence layout diagram, and then I remembered one of those old YouTube tips about using the blend tool with two simple paths instead of drawing the whole shape. Set the steps to 50 and it gave me this perfect transition that looked like it took forever, but it took maybe 4 minutes. The problem was I kept trying to do everything manually when the shortcut was right there. Anyone else have a tool they avoided for years and then felt silly when it clicked?

Yeah I spent a whole weekend drawing dashed lines by hand before realizing the stroke panel existed lol.
