Serious question, how long should gradient mapping a batch of 50 photos really take?
I spent 7 hours this weekend trying to gradient map a set of product shots in Photoshop for a client in Chicago, thinking I could just eyeball the color transitions. Turns out my monitor wasn't even calibrated right, so every photo looked swampy on their end. Has anyone else had a simple batch task balloon into a whole day because of one hidden setting?

Seven hours for gradient maps? That seems like a lot for something that's not exactly brain surgery.

Read an article about how professionals do gradient maps in batches to save time, so seven hours sounds like working piece by piece. Maybe they were testing a lot of color combos or resizing the map parts way too small to catch everything. Seems like the kind of job where you either breeze through or get stuck second-guessing every shade.
