Unpopular take: The grid tool is actually overrated for most layouts

I was at a meetup in Austin last month and watched a guy spend 20 minutes fiddling with grid settings for a simple 3-column blog layout that flex could've handled in 30 seconds. Grid is great for dashboards, but for basic page structures, it just adds unnecessary complexity, lol. Anyone else find themselves going back to flex more often?

Wait, that guy spent 20 minutes on grid for a 3-column blog layout? Honestly, flex would've had that thing done before he even opened the grid settings.

Come on though, grid handles the whole layout at once without any nesting headaches. Flex can get messy real quick when you start wrapping things inside other flex containers. If that blog ever needs to change column widths or spacing later, grid is way easier to tweak without breaking everything.
