The $9 cable clip that rearranged my whole brain about monitor arms

So last week I was reorganizing my desk in Portland for the third time this year, and I kept fighting with the monitor arm base. The cables behind it looked fine from the front but from the side it was a total mess of spaghetti. I finally pulled the arm off the desk to reroute things and discovered the actual culprit: the little plastic cable guide that ships with the arm was mounted upside down. That's it. A $9 pack of stick-on cable clips from the hardware store fixed it in 10 minutes, but the weird part is I had been staring at that guide for 2 months and never once thought to flip it. I read somewhere that 8 out of 10 desk setup frustrations come from a single misplaced component, not the whole layout. Has anyone else found one tiny dumb fix that made their whole setup finally click?

Flip the guide is step one, but cable clips are doing the REAL work anyway. Probably didn't need that factory guide at all, just sayin.
