A local library's website went from impossible to use to pretty good in about 18 months
I was trying to book a room at my town's library online maybe two years ago, and it was a mess. The buttons were tiny, the text was light gray on white, and the calendar picker was just broken on my phone. I had to call them. I checked again last week, and it's totally different. They made the buttons bigger and a darker blue, the text is black now, and the forms are way simpler. I asked a librarian, and she said they got a grant specifically for digital access and hired a consultant. Has anyone else seen a public site make a big, fast turn like that?

Wish my town would do that. Our county tax payment portal still looks like it was built in 1998. You have to click through like five pages just to pay a bill. It's wild that a grant and one consultant can make such a huge difference so fast.

Five pages is nothing lol. My old town made you mail a physical check or pay in person with exact change. At least you can do it online. The 1998 look just adds character.
