Just read that something like 1 in 12 men have some form of color blindness
I was looking up info on color contrast for a website I'm working on, and I found that stat. It was on a site for web designers. I always knew it was common, but I guess I never put a real number to it. That means in a room with 24 guys, two of them probably see colors differently than I do. It made me stop and think about a dashboard I made last year that used only red and green status lights. I never even considered that could be a problem. Now I'm going back to check all my old projects for stuff like that. Has anyone else had to fix a design after finding out a detail like this?

Oh man, that hits home. I put together a project timeline chart last month that was a total red and green mess. Felt pretty bad when a buddy pointed out he couldn't tell the difference between the late tasks and the on-time ones. It's one of those things you just don't think about until someone shows you. Now I run everything through a color contrast checker before I call it done.

Ever done that with blue and purple too, @paul_sanchez?

Color blindness is a real design blind spot. That contrast checker move is smart. Saves everyone a headache later.
