inI used to laugh at the whole 'birds aren't real' thing
Yeah, a tracking tag makes way more sense than my first thought (which was that the pigeon was secretly a tiny construction worker). The plate was just a flat, gray rectangle, maybe the size of a postage stamp, stuck right on its back. Looked pretty official, honestly.

inHonestly, my barista friend in Austin said something about cold brew that stuck with me
Yeah, @the_gray is right about that.

inSwapped mulch for gravel around my foundation and the look improved.
Honestly, gravel can still get weeds if you don't lay it right over a good barrier. I learned that the hard way last summer. It's low upkeep, but not zero upkeep like some folks hope.

inPSA: My bathroom tile job taught me to double-check measurements before mixing mortar
My uncle was a mason and he always said mixing mortar is like making a promise, you better be sure you can keep it. @chen.emery is right about that wrecking your whole day, I've seen guys lose half a Saturday on a simple measuring mistake. The second tape measure trick is solid, I do that with tree jobs too when we're checking clearance from a house. What's the worst redo you've ever had to scrap?

inFinally gave that new ceramic foam filter a shot on the 2B furnace after my foreman kept pushing it for months.
But is saving a few minutes on one task really worth that much money? Seems like a stretch.
