My sister said my digital art looked 'too clean' and it threw me off
I was showing her a new character piece I made in Procreate, and she said it looked like it came from a factory, not from me. She pointed out how I used the same smooth brush for everything and it lost the sketchy energy my old stuff had. Has anyone else had feedback that made you change your whole brush workflow?
Heard a pro artist say they keep a "messy" brush on a second layer for texture. Adds life back into clean linework. Your sister might be onto something.
Got me wondering how they actually use that messy brush. Like, do they just tap it on edges of clean shapes for a worn look, or do they do full passes over whole sections? Trying to picture the workflow without making the whole piece look sloppy.
