Tried a 'work from the beach' day in Tulum and it was a total disaster
I saw all the cool photos online and thought, why not? I packed my laptop, got a local SIM card, and set up at a beach club with a $15 day pass. The sun was great for about 20 minutes, then the glare made my screen impossible to see. I tried moving under an umbrella, but the sand got everywhere, I mean in the keyboard, the trackpad, everything. My battery died way faster in the heat, and the WiFi kept dropping every time a big group walked by. I learned that some digital nomad setups are just for the 'gram and not for actual work. Has anyone else found a spot that actually works for beachside productivity, or is it always a trap?

Oh man, you just described my nightmare! Honestly, the biggest thing everyone forgets is the humidity. It's not just the heat killing your battery, that moist air is slowly cooking your laptop's insides. I killed a motherboard that way in Bali. Now I only work near water if there's serious shade and a power outlet I can trust.

My old MacBook Air swelled up like a balloon after a summer in Bangkok. The repair guy said the constant 90% humidity was basically a death sentence for the logic board. I feel your pain, that Bali story is all too real. Now I keep silica gel packs in my laptop bag, just in case.
