Got called out for over-drafting a simple part

I was detailing a basic mounting bracket last month, and a senior guy at the shop looked over my shoulder and said, 'You're drawing every single bend radius and chamfer like it's a space shuttle part. The shop just needs the hole locations and the material callout.' I was putting in way too much detail for a part that gets laser cut and bent on a brake press. Now, for anything that's not a critical assembly, I just call out the material, thickness, and the flat pattern dimensions. Has anyone else had to learn to dial back the detail on simpler components?

Ever try to dimension a piece of angle iron like it's a heart valve? I used to put tolerances on the mill scale. The shop guys still bring me donuts, but I think it's pity food for overthinking. You learn to save the detail for where it actually matters.

Ever get them to stop bringing donuts by just asking what they actually need?
