Just swapped from a 6-inch to a 10-inch taping knife for finishing corners

The wider blade gave me a much flatter, cleaner seam on a tricky vaulted ceiling job in Denver. Anyone have a favorite knife size for inside corners?

Honestly, how do you even handle a 10-inch in a tight corner without making a huge mess? My buddy tried that on a basement job and totally gouged the drywall, had to do a whole extra coat. He said the bigger knife felt like trying to steer a boat in a closet. Ryan's right about the weight too, my friend almost took out a light fixture when his arm got tired. I still grab my 6-inch for corners most days, just feels more in control.

Forget the size, it's all about the steel. A flimsy 10-inch will bend and leave ridges no matter what. @the_ryan is onto something with the weight, but a stiff blade that holds its shape is the real game changer. I keep a heavy-duty 8-inch just for corners because it bridges the gap without flexing.

Bigger knife, fewer problems I guess. Just don't drop it on your head up there.
