Serious question, my old 401k from a job I left in 2015 was just sitting there for years.

Yeah, "it just got us here." But is that always true? What about when the old choice actually held you back, like staying in a bad job for years too long because you already put time in? That's not just a stepping stone, that's sunk cost. How do you tell the difference between a useful step and a trap you should've left sooner?

Serious question, our project management system crashed right before a major client deliverable

How do you get everyone to actually stick with the daily save rule without someone skipping it? That kind of habit is tough to keep up, even when people know it's important.

My brisket stall lasted 7 hours and I almost gave up

Spot on, @miller.susan. See this everywhere. People skip the simple fix, like wrapping something, and then act shocked when it gets messy. It's a whole mindset of avoiding the tiny bit of effort now. That choice always costs more time later. Drives me nuts.

Bought a $400 heated vest for a cold water job and it was a game changer

Yeah, that core chill is the real enemy. A good base layer is solid advice from @tara345, but when the water's a nasty surprise, battery heat is a different league. My heated gloves were that game changer for me, letting me actually finish the job.

Warning: My emergency fund saved me from a huge problem last Tuesday

Man, it's wild how many people are one big repair bill away from serious debt.
