I finally tried the magnetic wire feeder after years of doing it by hand

I was running 12/2 through some tight studs in an old house in Spokane last week, and my apprentice had one of those little magnetic wire feeders. I always thought they were a gimmick, but I gave it a shot. It pulled the wire through a 16-inch run in about 10 seconds, where I'd normally be fishing for a minute or two with a fishtape. The magnet just grabbed the steel fish tape tip perfectly every time. Has anyone else switched to using these for short pulls, or do you still stick with the old method?

Yeah those little magnets are a game changer for tight spots. I keep one in my bag now for anything under 20 feet. Saves so much time and cussing.

Totally agree about saving time and cussing. Mark_fisher48 is right that they're a game changer, but I'd say even for runs over 20 feet if you're solo. That magnet lets you focus on feeding the line instead of fighting the fish tape.
