Warning: I keep seeing cooks in Chicago overworking their burger patties

I watched a line cook at a spot on Randolph Street handle the same patty four times before it hit the grill, pressing all the juice out. It matters because a loose hand makes a tender, juicy burger, not a dense hockey puck. I learned this from my first head chef who would make you start over if you touched the meat more than twice. Has anyone found a good way to train new hires out of this habit?

My boss told me to always use a 22/2 wire for keypad runs, no matter the distance.

He said it was a company rule for voltage drop, but on a 200-foot run to a detached garage keypad last week, the system kept throwing low voltage faults. I swapped it for an 18/4 and the faults cleared right up. When has a 'standard' rule from your shop actually caused a problem on site?

The constant jumping around made the story feel choppy, and I missed character connections because the guide skipped some early world-building episodes. Shoutout to the guy who thought zip ties could hold a whole drop cable across his driveway

I saw this last month in a suburb outside of Dallas. The homeowner had used about twenty tiny zip ties to hang a coax line from his gutter to a pole. First good rain, the whole thing sagged into the driveway like a sad hammock. It matters because that's a trip hazard and it'll wreck the cable jacket. I had to re-run it properly with a messenger strand and proper clamps. How many of you have found some truly wild DIY fixes that just made your job harder?

Heard a friend say they skip all filler episodes and it got me thinking

My buddy Mark said he uses a website list to skip every single filler arc in shows like Naruto and Bleach. He said it saved him over 50 hours on Naruto alone. I always watched everything, even the bad beach episodes. But his point was that filler can mess up the story's pace and make you lose interest. I tried it with a recent rewatch of One Piece, skipping a listed 10 episodes, and the main plot felt much tighter. Does anyone else have a strong rule about filler, or do you watch it all?
